Veradermics’ second-quarter 2026 report (August 11, 2026) delivered three pieces of news that matter for anyone tracking VDPHL01 — the women’s registration trial is fully enrolled, the balance sheet now covers a commercial launch, and the first academic presentation of the Phase 3 data has landed. None of it moved the stock the way a trial readout does, but together it defines the shape of the next 12 months.
1. Study ‘306’ Is Fully Enrolled: 556 Women, Readout in H1 2027
Study ‘306’ (NCT07146022) is the registration-directed Phase 2/3 trial of VDPHL01 in female pattern hair loss. Veradermics confirmed that enrollment is complete at 556 participants — slightly more than either of the male trials — and guided to topline data in the first half of 2027.
- Design: randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled; 52 weeks (6-month placebo-controlled period, then all participants on VDPHL01).
- Doses: VDPHL01 4.5 mg once daily or twice daily — roughly half the 8.5 mg used in men, reflecting the lower dose range at which women respond to oral minoxidil.
- Co-primary endpoints: non-vellus target area hair count and patient-reported hair coverage at Month 6 — identical to the male trials.
- Precedent: the female arms of open-label Phase 2 Study ‘207’ (28 women, same 4.5 mg doses) met the primary endpoint in July, with a mean gain of roughly 23 hairs/cm² at six months — above the 15–20 hairs analysts had expected.
Why it matters: there is no FDA-approved oral prescription treatment for women with pattern hair loss. Finasteride and dutasteride are contraindicated in women of child-bearing age; topical minoxidil is the only approved option. If Study ‘306’ replicates Study ‘207’, VDPHL01 becomes the first oral drug approved for both sexes — and Cantor Fitzgerald’s analyst already models women as ~40% of a $2.1 billion 2033 sales estimate.
Recruitment is closed. Women interested in VDPHL01 can no longer join Study ‘306’; the next opportunity is commercial availability after approval.
2. $819.9 Million in Cash — Runway Into 2030
Veradermics ended June 2026 with $819.9 million in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities. Management says this funds operations including a potential commercial launch of VDPHL01 into 2030. For a company whose lead asset is roughly a year from an NDA, that removes financing risk from the equation entirely.
| Financing event | Date | Gross proceeds |
|---|---|---|
| Series C (private) | October 2025 | $150 million |
| Initial public offering, NYSE: MANE — priced at $17, above the $14–16 range; underwriters’ option fully exercised | February 4, 2026 | ≈ $294.8 million |
| Follow-on offering + concurrent private placement | May 2026 | ≈ $472.0 million |
| Total raised since IPO | ≈ $766.8 million |
Spending is ramping as expected for a pre-launch company: Q2 net loss was $23.5 million (vs. $15.6 million a year earlier), with general and administrative costs up sharply on headcount and “VDPHL01 commercial readiness” — the first explicit mention of launch preparation in a Veradermics filing. The stock, which listed at $17 in February, traded above $125 by the summer.
3. First Academic Presentation: AAD Innovation Academy
On July 15–17, 2026, Study ‘302’ data were presented at the American Academy of Dermatology Innovation Academy in New York — a poster plus an oral presentation by Maria Hordinsky, M.D. (University of Minnesota), one of the most-cited hair-loss researchers in the United States. The oral session covered a pre-specified subgroup analysis comparing men under 40 with men 40 and older. Veradermics has not yet released the subgroup numbers; they are expected in the peer-reviewed publication of Study ‘302’.
The significance is less the data than the venue: AAD presentations are how a new drug enters dermatologists’ prescribing conversation ahead of launch.
